(More customer reviews)I was so disappointed with this belt. The ad for the belt does say 8mm, but it also says it is a Dyson DC17 Belt replacement. I never measured the old belt for my DC17. I didn't think I needed too. I just looked for a belt that said it was a Dyson replacement belt for a DC17 and trusted that would mean it was a genuine Dyson DC17 belt replacement. This one appeared to be a genuine Dyson replacement belt by the ad's wordage. So I thought, "No worries, this is the one I need". After getting this belt, and realizing it looked wrong; I then measured the old belt. The old belt is 10.5mm; 8mm is to small for the notched out groove and will not work properly. The material that the old belt is made from is a composite material, this belt is just a ribbed rubber. This is just a cheap knock off that isn't even the right size you need for the DC17. Precisely, this is a 225-3M product. I just wasted my money and time.
